Addis Abab (Halbeeg) A high-level delegation from Eritrea has arrived in Addis Ababa, the capital of the Eritrean long-time foe Ethiopia on Tuesday.
Despite the permanent delegates of Asmara in Addis Ababa representing their country at African Union, the two countries their diplomatic relations two decades ago.
Senior Eritrean delegation composed of Foreign Minister Osman Saleh and Presidential adviser Yemane Ghebreab were welcomed at the airport by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

The delegates were escorted to their hotels before holding talks with Prime Minister Ahmed.
No further details have been announced about negotiations between the two Horn of Africa countries, but a dinner reception is scheduled for the Eritrean visitors at the Ethiopian national palace later Tuesday.
This will be the first Asmara dispatches peace delegation to Addis Ababa nearly two decades.

The two neighbouring countries engaged in a deadly gun battle between 1998 and 2000.
Despite the claims by Eritrea that 19,000 of its soldiers were killed, more realistic estimates put the total number of 70,000 t0 80,000 victims on both sides
