Mogadishu local government said it has been preparing a new plan to strengthen the security of the capital city.
The Somali government has been deployed hundreds of soldiers at major roads in the capital since the began of Ramadan.
Mogadishu Mayor, Abdirahman Omar Osman said his administration improved the security of the city.
Osman noted the government officials agreed to step up the Mogadishu Security Architecture following national security meeting in Mogadishu.
The mayor expressed optimism that the restoration of the security of the capital will be complete saying in the forthcoming months, security will be stable.
He said the local population was the most effective weapon to dismantle peace violators.
“The security of Mogadishu is now good but We are carrying out initiatives to increase the stability and improve the security. We are charting out plans to allowing the public to take part in peace and stability restoration of the town,” he said.
Security has been a major issue for Somali capital, which suffered a range of violent attacks carried out Al-Shabab.
The government has beefed up the security of the city this month as Al-Shabab staged several deadly attacks in the capital in the previous Ramadan months.
The task of maintaining the security of the city was undertaken through joint efforts between Somali forces and Amisom troops.
