Members of Somali Lower House will meet on Monday to vote for a new speaker barely three weeks after the former House leader stepped down.
The vote is expected to kick off early today to fill the position vacated by Mohamed Osman Jawari early this month.
Eleven candidates among them former speaker, former ministers, former police chief will take part in the election.
The oversight Parliamentary elections committee has been working round the clock to meet the deadline for last twelve hours.
The immediate former speaker, Jawari has resigned on 9th this month following four weeks political stand-off.
In early March, dozens of lawmakers lodged motion against him as they accused him of corruption and stifling the rights of the MPs.
After interventions, Jawari resigned without condition, according to a press he held jointly with President Farmajo.
