Somali National Team will today square it out with Tanzanian team in the final match of Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) under-17 Championship in Burundi.
The Junior Somali heroes will face off Tanzania’s Serengeti Boys in the final match of the championship hosted by Burundi after both teams defeated Uganda and Kenya respectively.
Somali President, Mohamed Abdullahi and other delegates from Somali government are expected to attend today’s final match.
Somalia had earlier crashed two giant teams from Kenya and Uganda which are members of troops contributing countries to African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), during the quarter and the semi final matches respectively before it made its way to the final.
The Young Somali team shocked their Kenyan Counterpart with 1-0 and later secured their final slot with a 1-0 win over Uganda.
On the other hand Tanzania trounced Kenya’s Young Harambee by 2-1 in the semi-final before they faced Somalia.
The tournament which is expected to conclude today had initially convened seven teams from Kenya, Uganda, Sudan, Burundi, Somalia, Tanzania and Ethiopia.
