MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali prime minister, Mohamed Hussein roble has today dismissed seven officials of Dispute Resolution Committee hours after the National Consultative Council and the opposition leaders held Zoom meeting to discuss grievances related to election irregularities.
In a statement, the office of PM said the officials were sacked for failing to uphold their independence and for using their position for purposes outside the responsibility entrusted with them
Among those sacked are the committee’s chairperson Hussein Mohamed Mohamud.
The remaining members sacked are:
1. Ahmed Sa’id Samatar
2. Mohamed Farah Hersi
3. Nimo Ahmed Abdi
4. Ali Mohamud Seeko
5. Abdirahman Mohamed Ali
6. Mohamed Iise Heybe.
The PM immediately filled the positions with the new following members.
1. Ismail Mohamed Ahmed
2. Fardowsa Mataan Buule
3. Ayanle Ahmed Abdulle
4. Bashir Ahmed Yusuf
5. Hassan Ahmed Dhihisow
6. Ahmed Barre Mohamed
7. Mohamed Awil Warsame
Prior to the dismissal of the Committee, the polls dispute resolution committee dismissed accusations of bias in handling electoral disputes before them.
“We are making it clear that we do not have a group, we do not serve a specific system, we do not serve a specific group. We serve to sort out the lawmakers or candidates who are dissatisfied with the election results, “the Dispute Resolution Committee said.
