ADDIS ABABA ( Halbeeg News)- Five people suspected of behind the grenade attack at a rally attended by the prime minister of Ethiopia Abiy Ahmed appeared in court on Friday.
The Ethiopian prosecutors accused the suspects of behaving involvement in an attack at a rally in Addis Ababa where PM Abiy has attended.
The prosecutors said one of the suspects named Getu Girma was accused of planning the grenade attack at the rally in the city.
They also said that the accused [ Getu] has spent in jail for two years before he took advantage of an amnesty given by the government.
Two people were reported killed and more than one hundred and fifty others injured during the deadly grenade attack at the rally in Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa.
Prime Minister Abiy survived this deadly attack and was moved to a safe place after the attack.
Nine police officials, including the deputy head of the capital Addis Ababa’s police commission, have been arrested for what authorities said were security lapses.
