Mogadishu (Halbeeg News) –Police in Somali capital, Mogadishu have arrested a woman for allegedly torturing their stepson to death.
The police suspect the beatings are likely to have contributed to the demise of the boy because his body was found oozing blood from the nose.
According to a statement by the police, the woman has since been arrested and is being held at Police Station in Mogadishu’s Dharkenley district and will soon be arraigned in a court for trial.
“On the evening of May 13, 2023, at approximately 8:00 pm, officers from Dharkenley Police Station detained a woman responsible for the brutal killing of her stepson. During the incident, the police managed to rescue the deceased boy’s sister, who had also sustained serious injuries” the statement reads in part.
The body of the boy was taken to the Somali CID’s headquarters awaiting postmortem.
