MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has sent a message of congratulations and best wishes to Ali Abdullahi Hussein and Yusuf Ahmed Hagar alias Dabageed following their win in Hirshabelle state electrons.
The regional lawmakers in Hirshabelle state on Wednesday elected the state president and his deputy less than two weeks after the state’s president vacated office.
Ali Abdullahi Hussein, aka Guudlaawe was elected as the third president after garnering 86 votes while his challenger Abdurhman Jumale Osman got 13 votes.
The lawmakers also elected Yusuf Ahmed Hagar Dabageed as the deputy leader.
In a statement, president Farmajo wished both Guudlaawe and Dabageed successful in the posts.
Guudlaawe served the state as immediate deputy president under the administration of Mohamed Abdi Waare, who resigned from the post just less than before his mandate lapses.
Dabageed also served as the governor of Hiiraan region.
