Over 15,000 student across Puntland State have sat for their final secondary examinations ahead of Federal Government set examinations scheduled on 19th.
The examinations set by the regional education ministry of Puntland State will run three days.
Somali Federal Government in collaboration with regional states is struggling to revive its education system which collapsed in 1990 when Somali central government was overthrown.
Puntland leader, Abdiweli Ali Gaas who visited several examination centres in Garowe town has wished students success in their examinations.
“We know you feel exam phobia but you will pass your examinations, keep on your hard-work,” said Gaas.
Puntland leader pledged that his administration will ensure top performing children from financially challenged backgrounds in all Puntland area to get scholarships.
“We will make sure to give sponsorship to the students who excel in the ongoing examinations,” he pledged.
The students in the other regional states in Southern Somalia will sit for their national examinations on 19th this month.
According to Somali ministry of Education, over 27,0000 students will sit for their examinations across the country.
