MOGADISHU ( HALBEEG NEWS) – The United Nations Office in Somalia has congratulated Somali youth on the occasion of the World Youth Day.
In a tweet, UNSOM encouraged the youth in the horn of the African nation to strengthen their engagement in various areas of social, economic, and political life.
The UN office in Somalia said it remains committed to supporting efforts spearheaded by young Somalis in the country to strengthen peace and security.
“Today is International World Youth Day, UN office in Somalia joins all Somalis in celebrating its young people’s talent and initiatives and encourages their engagement in all areas of social, economic, and political life.”
“As Somalia joins the rest of the world in marking International Youth Day 2020.
UN remains committed to supporting efforts for a peaceful where youth can safely engage and thrive.
In 1999, the UN General Assembly endorsed the recommendation made by the World Conference of Ministers responsible for Youth that 12 August be declared International Youth Day.
