BAIDOA ( HALBEEG NEWS) – Two men who were convicted of defiling and killing a 9-year-old boy were today executed by firing squad in Baidoa town of Southwest state of Somalia.
The offense was committed three weeks ago where the culprits’ gang-raped the victims before nabbed by the security agencies.
The officials said the prosecution of the two today will be a good example to the others considering committing the heinous crime.
The incident led to a public uproar in the administrative capital of the Southwest state before the authorities took the action.
The residents of the city urged regional officials to stake stiff actions against the perpetrators of sexual violence in the area in order to discourage similar further actions within the community.
