MOGADISHU ( HALBEEG NEWS) – Somali Police Force has confirmed a suicide bomb attack in Mogadishu Hamar Jajab district on Monday.
According to the law enforcement agency, the attacker dressed in a suicide vest was stopped by security officials while trying to gain access to a restaurant near the port of Mogadishu.
Sources said two security guards were killed after the attacker detonated his explosive.
An unconfirmed number of people were also wounded in the incident.
The restaurant was a favorite eatery center for government officials and port workers.
No one has claimed the responsibility for the attack but armed group al Shabaab frequently targets Somali government officials mainly in the capital Mogadishu and other big cities across the country.
