MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) -At least two gold miners have died after the mine collapsed in Sanag region in northern Somalia.
Two others are nursing injuries in in the hospital with six of them in critical condition.
The tragedy happened Sunday evening at the gold mines in Milho village of Lasqori district.
Locals told the media that the victims were inside the mining pit when it collapsed.
The cause of collapse has not yet been established.
Local authorities have not commented on the incident.
Artisanal mining in the region which dates back decades is being carried out by dozens of locals in Lasqori district.
Previously several incidents had been reported in the district with claiming lives.
