Somali President, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo made a phone call to Egyptian President, Abdiaziz El-sisi, the first such call to the North African leader since he won the presidency late last month.
During the call on Tuesday night, the leaders reaffirmed the strong bilateral relationship between the two Arab countries.
The two leaders agreed upon cooperation and implantation of the government’s agreements and strengthening their relations.
“President Farmajo has congratulated his Egyptian counterpart on his victory of the recent elections in that country,” reported the state owned media.
Mr. Farmajo appreciated Egypt’s commitment to support Somalia in peace, stability and rebuilding process.
Egyptian government through Ministry of Agriculture had pledged to rump up support on agriculture and livestock vets by providing training opportunities to Somali farmers.
Egypt also eyes to invest Somalia’s lucrative markets by setting banks in Somalia.
Last month, the North African country sent delegates to assess and explore the situation and the markets in Somalia.
They were received by finance minister, Abdirahman Beileh where they discussed on Banking Financial investments.
