DODOMA (Halbeeg News) – Somalia’s new ambassador to Tanzania, Zahra Ali Hassan has assumed office after she presented her credential letters to Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu.
In a statement, Somali foreign ministry said Ambassador Hassan on Monday handed over her credentials to President Samia.
“Ambassador Zahra Ali Hassan has handed over her credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the United Republic of Tanzania, to the Tanzanian President, H.E. (Madam) Samia Suluhu Hassan, in a ceremony held at the presidential palace in the capital, Dodoma,” the ministry said.
The ministry added that Hassan conveyed the greetings of the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed “Farmaajo”.
According to the statement, the new ambassador stressed her keenness to move forward in strengthening the bonds of partnership and bilateral cooperation between Somalia and Tanzania to achieve progress and prosperity for the two friendly countries and peoples.
On her side, Tanzanian President, Samia Suluhu, welcomed the new Somali ambassador, wishing her success in her duties entrusted to strengthening the friendly relations rooted in the depths of history.
