The deputy Speaker of Somalia’s lower house, Abdiweli Sheikh Mudey on Wednesday blamed the embattled Speaker, Mohamed Osman Jawari of deploying forces in the Parliament.
Mudey said Jawari in collaboration with second deputy speaker organized forces to take over the control of the House during Today’s session.
“Today, 04/04/2018, the Speaker and the second deputy speaker have unconstitutionally taken the control of the House of the People while using forces loyal to them, they blocked the whole business of the Parliament,” reads the statement from the office of the first Deputy Speaker.
Mudey noted that both officials turned down the requests to allow the MPs to access the Parliament.
In the statement, Mudey accused of Jawari of violating the parliamentaryprocedures by coming with armed forces.
Pictures from inside the Parliament show the police on the floor and empty seats.
