BAIDOA (Halbeeg News) – The president of Southwest state, Abdiaziz Hassan Lafta Gareen officially submitted the list of candidates running for the upper house of the Somali parliament on Saturday.
Southwest Electoral Implementation Committee has thanked the leader for submitting the list of candidates for the Upper House of the Somali Parliament.
Meanwhile, the Southwest Electoral Implementation Committee has released a timetable for the election of the Upper House of the Federal Parliament from the state.
The committee announced that candidates could begin registration for the Upper House of Parliament on Saturday.
Each seat will be contested by two candidates. Seat number five has been reserved for women only in an effort to meet the 30% threshold for female candidates.
