The word “الصومال_تتحدث#” (Somalia speaks) has been viraly trending on Twitter for the last 48 hours, a move aiming at shading light on Somalia’s prosperous as well as beautiful landscapes.
The #Hashtag came about after a handful individuals hailing from Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates allegedly poured dozens of computer generated photos on twitter, showing hunger and fighting images with sarcastic comments, leading thousands of Somalis to react swiftly by the started the hashtag #Somalia-speaks.
Among Somali campaigners waving the hashtag is Hussein Waddani who posted satirical cartoon kicking a man-like cartoon with comment saying “Take your money and go home”
Another female reactor, Hiba Shookari said in a post on her twitter account Somalia’s fourth state has freedom unlike Somali Arab monarchy.
“In Somalia, no journalist has involvement in politics, no political prisoner and persons detained for their opinions, Somalis are independent,” reads Shookari’s post.
Mohamed Al-Ameer lambasted UAE’s attempts to destabilize Somalia and its failed proxy war.
“Dear brothers and sisters of UAE, Somalia is independent country and it will, your leaders think they can destroy our dignity with some rubbish dirhams, they can’t. If you want to know about Somalia, please go and read history books,” Al-Ameer lashes UAE.
Early this Month, Somali Defense ministry has cut off its military ties with UAE following blatant infringement of Somalia’s sovereignty after the Gulf nation sent a plane carrying three unmarked bags stuffed with 9.6 million USD with Somalia’s consent amid the political stand-off within the parliament.
Analysts say the Arabian Peninsula nation was trying intrude Somalia’s internal affairs with fear that Qatar could have breeding in Somalia.
