Hargeysa ( Halbeeg News) – Somaliland’s Police Force Commissioner, Major General Abdullahi Fadal Iman has passed away in Hargeysa on Friday.
General Fadal died while undergoing treatment in the hospital where he was admitted following short illness.
According to Somaliland based media sources, the senior security official was battling diabetes and kidney related complications in the past.
He was relieved from active duties by President Muse Bihi Abdi for six months due to his medical condition.
Major General Abdullahi Fadal Iman was appointed as new Somaliland Police Commissioner in 2012 before his promotion as Major General in 2017 for his service in the sector.
Somaliland officials are expected to attend the funeral ceremony of the significant security figure on Saturday.
Senior Somali government officials including the Deputy Prime Minister, Mahdi Mohamed Guled have sent their condolences to the family and friends left behind.
