DJIBOUTI ( HALBEEG NEWS) – The leader of Somaliland Muse Bihi Abdi arrived in Djibouti on Wednesday
President Bihi and his delegation were received by senior officials upon arrival at Ambouli International Airport.
According to officials in Hargeisa President Bihi received an official invitation from President Ismael Omar Gelle of Djibouti.
The two sides which share close security and economic cooperation are expected to hold talks.
The meeting comes days after the boat-shaped strategic nation hosted the 38th IGAD head of state and governments summit in which leaders from six member nations participated.
The summit which was requested by Somalia discussed diplomatic tiff with neighboring Kenya, COVID-19 pandemic, and law enforcement operations in Ethiopia Tigray region.
IGAD urged Mogadishu and Nairobi to restore bilateral ties while organizing to deploy a fact-finding mission to the border of two nations to establish who is provoking the other.
Somalia has severed diplomatic ties with Kenya on December 15 for alleged continuous political interference by Nairobi in Somali domestic affairs.
Nairobi has since denied accusations despite hosting Jubbaland and Somaliland leaders in Nairobi.
