Somaliland electoral delegates to elect six senators today

MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Electoral Delegates from the northern regions of Somaliland will today vote for six of the eleven senatorial seats allocated to Somalia’s northern region.

Somaliland State Electoral Commission (SIET) has announced the candidates running for the six seats in the Upper House.

Among senate-hopefuls are Somali information minister Osman Abokor Dube, a well-known professor Abdi Ismail Samatar and the outgoing Upper House Speaker Abdi abdullahi Hashi.

Below is the list of the candidates who will be in the ballot today.

All candidates vying for senatorial seats have made their pitch to the delegates yesterday at the Afisioni Tent in Mogadishu.
