Doha, (Halbeeg News) – Somalia’s Health and Social Welfare minister Dr. Ali Haji Adam Monday participated in the 71st session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean in Doha, Qatar.
The meeting is hosted by the State of Qatar and is scheduled to run from 14 to 17 October under the theme “Health Beyond Borders: Action, Access, Equity in the Eastern Mediterranean Region.”
Speaking during the opening ceremony, Qatar’s Public Health minister Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari stated that the theme of this session “is of exceptional relevance to our region, where conflicts, natural disasters, epidemics, and political unrest have deteriorated healthcare services in several countries.”
In his address to the forum, Somalia’s Health Minister Ali Haji Adam stated that Somalia remains committed to partner with the global community to strengthen the global health systems and enhance collaboration for a healthier future.
“Proud to open the 71st session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean in Doha today. Together, we will strengthen our health systems and enhance collaboration for a healthier future!,” Dr. Adam said in his official X platform, formally Twitter.
The participation of Somalia in the global forum marks a significant step towards strengthening health initiatives in the region.
