Somalia Foreign minister, Ahmed Isse Awad has held meeting with the Secretary General of Arab League, Ahmed Abulqeyd in Saudi Arabia.
The meeting between the officials took place in Dammam town where Arab League Forum is planned to start.
The two leaders discussed wide range issues including Somali government achievements, security and among others.
Mr. Awad briefed Abulqeyd about Somali plans to rebuild the country’s infrastructure, institutions and army.
The Secretary General commended Somalia’s efforts to bounce back on its feet.
The minister who arrived Saudi Arabia on Thursday has attended Arab League ministerial summit on Friday where the ministers discussed Palestinians’ status ahead of the meeting of the heads of state of Arab League members which is scheduled to take place on Sunday.
During the conference, Saudi Arabia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Adel Al-Jubeir condemned US decision to move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem town saying the move will hamper the international efforts to end Arab-Israel conflict in Middle East.
Over ten leaders from Arab countries will meet tomorrow in Dammam for 29th Arab League Summit.
Among the top agendas of the conference are the status of Palestinians, the civil war in Yemen, the situation of Syria.
Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi is expected to reach Dammam town in Saudi Arabia later today where he will attend the conference
