MOGADISHU ( Halbeeg News) – The second annual Mogadishu Tech Summit has kicked off in Somali capital on Tuesday.
The three-day event will showcase technology-based creativity and innovation mainly by young Somalis across the country.
The first day more than 30 guests will present their project including startups.
The theme of this year’s summit is “Scaling Solutions for Somalia: Youth-Led, Tech-Enabled.
The invited guests also include technology experts outside the country.
Somali Federal Government senior officials led by Deputy Prime Minister, Mahdi Mohamed Gulaid, Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Saed Hussein Eid, Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Abdullahi Bidhan Warsame, Villa Somalia chief of staff, Dr. Nur Dirie Hersi and Mayor of Mogadishu, Omar Mohamed Mohamud were present during the opening ceremony.
The organizers of the event said they are arranging more space for participants as they are expecting more people in the next coming two days.
