MOGADISHU ( HALBEEG NEWS) – The Federal Government of Somalia has called upon the international partners to focus its support towards helping strengthening institutions in the country.
The calls by the Director of the office of the President Abdinor Mohamed Mohamed follows concerns by the international community after the ouster of the Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire government by the parliament last week.
The spokesman of Villa Somalia appreciated what he termed as indelible support by the friends of Somalia towards people and government in the country.
“The International Community has left an indelible mark in our rebuilding efforts and the government and the people of the Federal Republic of Somalia hold deep gratitude for that. However, the long-term focus of such efforts should be on strengthening institutions and development organs.”
In a statement last week Somalia’s international partners expressed their concern on the recent political developments in the country that saw parliament vote out premier Khaire government via a vote of no confidence.
The partners hoped that decision will not undermine efforts to reach political consensus on timely elections, disrupt Somalia’s reform agenda, or create instability that may reverse the gains made so far on national priorities.
