Somali government on Friday signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on technology assistance with Pakistan government.
The agreement is expected to help Somalia advance technology in the application systems.
in a ceremony held in Islamabad town, Pakistan, Somali ambassador to Pakistan, Khadija Mohamed Almakhzoumi and Pakistan’s Interior, Ahsan Iqbal have jointly inked the deal.
The signing of the agreement was witnessed by Pakistan’s prime minister, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the chairperson of Pakistan’s National Database and Registration Authority ( NADRA), Osman. Mobin and other government officials.
NADRA is scheduled to implement to the deal which will assist Somalia in number of areas related to technology.
Among the issues that NADRA will facilitates include registration of citizens and immigration services.
In 2014, Somali government had for the first time issued Identification Card to its citizens.
The national citizen ID documents had significantly played very important in improving the security improvement.
