MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali health ministry on Saturday confirmed 23 more cases of COVID-19, raising the national tally to 15,203.
According to a statement by the ministry, eight patients succumbed to the deadly virus, bringing the total number of fatalities to 789.
The ministry also said four more people have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 7,286.
Mid this year, horn of Africa nation received its first shipment of 300,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine through the international COVAX initiative to ensure that low- and middle-income countries receive vaccines.
In June, Somalia rolled out doses of Sinopharm vaccine donated by China to boost the war against COVID-19 pandemic in the Horn of African nation.
