MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somalia on Wednesday confirmed 136 new positive Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 16,535.
About 2,666 samples collected from different region were tested in the last 24 hours.
According to the ministry of health, Benaadir recorded highest number which is 60 followed by Puntland state and Somaliland 48 and 12 cases respectively.
Galmudug, Jubbaland and Southwest states registered 8, 6 and 2 respectively.
The cases include affected 80 males and 56 females.
41 more people were reported to have recovered from the disease; hence the total number of recoveries is now at 8,010.
Unfortunately, five people have succumbed to coronavirus in the country, the total number of fatalities now being 897.
