MOGADISHU ( HALBEEG NEWS) – Somalia has recorded twelve new coronavirus cases on Wednesday.
According to updates the Ministry of Health five males and one female tested positive in the past 24 hours as per the results of the public laboratory.
The patients are stationed in Puntland and Jubbaland states respectively.
The authorities also recorded 38 recoveries putting the number of active cases in the horn of the African nation to 2,48. The death toll stands at 93 so far since the first case was documented in March this year.
The Minister for Health Dr. Fowziya Abikar Nur appealed to the members of parliament to follow guidelines to curb the spread of the pandemic including face masks, social distancing, and avoiding unnecessary public gathering.
The country has earlier this month lifted the ban on international flights and resumed learning at schools after closure for three months in a bid to curb the spread of the virus.
