MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali minister for Foreign Affairs has been invited to attend China-Africa forum.
China has urged the Somali government to take part in
ministerial consultation meeting on the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) to be held in China in June.
According to a statement, Mr. Shirwa Abdullahi Ibrahim, the Director of Asia Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Somalia has received Chinese Ambassador, Qin Jian.
During the meeting, the Chinese ambassador handed over an invitation letter to the ministry.
Both officials exchanged cordial talks on the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
Among the issues that are discussed includes cooperation and strategic partnership between the two countries.
The Chinese government which seized its relations with Somalia in 1990 after civil strife broke out has reestablished its diplomatic ties with Mogadishu for sometimes now.
China pledged to support the Somali government in rebuilding the country’s infrastructure which was destroyed by decades of conflict.
