MOGADISHU( Halbeeg News)- An inauguration ceremony for rehabilitation project of the diplomatic institute of Somalia’s ministry of foreign affairs was today held in Mogadishu.
Somalia’s foreign minister, Ahmed Ise Awad and Qatar’s ambassador to Somalia Hassan Hanze Asad have jointly laid the foundation stone of the diplomatic institute of the foreign ministry after more than decades.
Ahmed Ise Awad, Somali foreign minister thanked the government of Qatar for its dedication to take part in the recovery of Somalia.
The project of rehabilitating the diplomatic institute is part of an agreement signed between Qatar Development Fund and federal government of Somalia November last year.
The agreement signed with the Somali Ministry of Planning to implement various development projects in Somalia at a cost of $200 million.
The director of Qatar Development fund, Khalifa Bin Jassem who visited Mogadishu said the development project signed with Somalia will include rehabilitation of government institutions and construction of the main roads linking Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia with Afgoye and Jowhar districts in Lower and Middle Shabelle regions respectively.
Mr. jassem also stressed that the development projects will give a great boost to the education programs in Somalia.
He underlined that Qatar’s support shows the great commitment of his country to take part in the efforts of the government and people of Somalia to revive and develop the country.
