Paris, (Halbeeg News) – The federal government of Somalia and France Sunday discussed avenues of enhancing bilateral ties during a high-level meeting held in Paris.
The meeting was attended by Somalia’s Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation minister Ali Mohamed Omar and Thani Mohamed-Soilihi, French State Minister for Francophonie and International Partnerships.
The discussion focused their discussions on five key areas including; Security and Stability, Diaspora and Migration, Economic Cooperation, Diplomatic Relations, and Commitments.
The two ministers underscored their shared commitment to advancing Somalia’s sovereignty, stability, and prosperity while exploring new avenues for collaboration across multiple sectors.
Mohamed-Soilihi congratulated Somalia on its recent election to the United Nations Security Council, describing it as a landmark achievement.
“We look forward to close collaboration with Somalia during its tenure on the Security Council to address global challenges and reinforce our shared priorities,” he stated.
The discussions marked a significant milestone in strengthening the long-standing partnership between Somalia and France.
