MOGADISHU ( Hlabeeg News) – The government of Somalia has called on Pakistani entrepreneurs to visit the horn of African Nation to initiate into joint business ventures with their corresponding companies related to pharmaceutical and different sectors.
Abdifitah Abdulkadir Osman, deputy commercial Attaché of Embassy of Somalia on Saturday invited the business community of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to an exhibition in Somalia.
He asked the KP businessmen to participate in the forthcoming exhibition in Somalia to strengthen bilateral trade and economic relations between the two countries.
According to the official, the exhibition was scheduled to be held in June this year in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
He emphasized on making visa procedure uncomplicated and business friendly, as Pakistan and Somalia can benefit from very sturdy historical associations leading to a basis for communal trade and economic bond.
Osman, speaking at a meeting with cabinet and members of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here at the Chamber House, said that the mutual trade and business relations could further be strengthened by the participation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa business community.
He said that trade volume between Somalia and Pakistan stood at $43 million, which could easily be enhanced up to $500 million.
SCCI president Faiz Muhammad Faizi stressed the need for robust trade and business ties between Pakistan and Somalia and hailed the gesture of the Somali diplomat.
He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was a lucrative destination for the foreign investors wherein they could export in a pharmaceutical, PVC pipes, steel, aluminum, match, textile and food commodities, along with fresh fruits from the province.
