MOGADISHU ( Halbeeg News) – The Somali government has called upon the African Union Mission in its country (AMISOM) to probe destruction of properties belonging to the largest telecommunication company, Hormuud.
Hormuud Telecom said on Saturday that Kenyan troops dismantled its property using explosives including towers and mast in Aws –Kurun in Gedo region.
The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunication, Abdi Anshur called upon AMISOM which Kenyan troops are part of to cooperate with the Somali government in the investigation of the repeated attacks.
“We urge AMISOM to engage with the Somali government in the investigation of these repeated attacks and believe it is important to take appropriate action against this adversary who targets our economy and business per international law.” the Minister said.
Minister Anshur who strongly condemned the attack also said his office submitted to The Ministry of Foreign Affairs a detailed report regarding the of loss of lives and destruction properties as a result of the attacks by the Kenyan military in Jubbaland state.
He said the attacks on the satellite equipment has impacted on the lives of Somali citizens living in the affected areas.
The attack disrupted mobile money transfer service that is widely used in the remote areas.
