MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali government on Friday unsealed the arrest warrants against two agents who previously worked with the country’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) on accusations of “working with al-Shabaab group.
According to a statement by NISA, the suspects, identified as Abdisatar Abdiqadir Isse and Ayanle Mohamed Ali were accused of being working with al-Shabaab.
NISA urged the public to support security forces to arrest the two suspects.
The agency said Isse and Ali were believed to have exploited their roles to gather sensitive information and aid Al-Shabaab’s activities.
“Your cooperation in this matter is crucial for maintaining the safety and security of our community. By remaining vigilant and promptly reporting any relevant information, we can collectively contribute to preventing potential threats and ensuring the well-being of our nation.,” the agency said. “Remember, your assistance plays a vital role in safeguarding our society against those who seek to undermine our peace and stability. Stay informed, stay alert, and help us maintain a secure environment for all.”
Meanwhile, Somali information minister, Daud Aweys Jama has confirmed the arrest of ten government employees who were accused of accused of perpetrating surreptitious activities on behalf of Al-Shabaab.
“Today’s revelation underscores the unwavering commitment of our security forces to unmask and neutralize agents of terror lurking within our institutions,” affirmed Minister Jama.
