ANTALYA (Halbeeg News) – Somali foreign minister, Mohamed Abdirizak Mohamud has held talks with Turkish officials in Antalya town on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
The minister and the officials discussed economic and defense relations between Turkey and Somalia.
The meeting which was a closed session on defense to benefit from the technical expertise and the Turkish defense industry was also discussed as a perspective of diplomacy and peaceful cooperation.
Minister Abdirizak is also attended a meeting on deepening Turkish-African economic cooperation within the agenda of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum for its second day.
During the meeting, different visions were exchanged for setting an action plan and solid foundations for Turkish-African economic cooperation that is more beneficial to all partners.
Turkey provides significant support to Somalia in various areas mainly in security and humanitarian aspect since the first visit of President Erdogan then Prime Minister in August 2011.
Ankara established USD 50 million military facilities in Mogadishu to train and equip Somali armed forces to boost law and order in the country.
