MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Leaders from Somalia and Kenya are expected to attend a conference on security and trade.
Six Kenyan lawmakers from Wajir county assembly in Kenya have today arrived in Kismayu town, the administrative capital of Jubbaland state.
The delegation was received by Jubbaland minister for Interior, Mohamed Warsame Darwish, and other officials from the state.
Mr. Darwish told the media that the delegates will be attending the conference which is scheduled run for days.
The delegates are also expected to meet the leader of Jubbaland state, Ahmed Mohamed Madobe where they will discuss relations between Wajir County and Jubbland state and means to cooperate on enhancing the security of the two regions and movement of people within the borders.
The conference comes two months after officials from Northeastern Kenya and Jubbaland state held discussions on communicable diseases.
