MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somalia and Egypt agreed to strengthen existing bilateral relations between the two Arab state members.
Somalia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs and the International Cooperation, Abdulkadir Ahmed Kheyr met with the visiting Egyptian Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs Hamdi Sanad Loza in Foreign Affairs headquarters in Mogadishu on Sunday.
The two asserted the importance of the historical ties binding both countries.
Somalia is keen on following up with the strategic military, education, trade and security ties with Cairo.
Loza’s visit to Somalia comes as of part of his tour in the Horn of Africa which also includes Kenya.
Egypt is keen on following up the latest developments in East Africa and the Horn of Africa in light of its presidency of the African Union in addition to boosting cooperation at the bilateral level at the different domains.
