MOGADISHU ( HALBEEG NEWS) – The Federal Government of Somalia and The Arab Republic of Egypt have agreed to boost the already existing bilateral relations between the two nations.
The renewed commitment was made during meeting between diplomats of the two Arab and Muslim states in Mogadishu on Sunday.
The Egyptian delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sherif Mohamud met with Somalia Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Mohamed Abdirizak
The two sides discussed ways to boost the cooperation between Mogadishu and Cairo.
“Received Egyptian Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E Sherif Mohamoud Said and his delegation in my office. We discussed bilateral relations. Somalia and Egypt share a strong brotherly friendship and ties. We wish to further strengthen our relations. “Mr. Mohamed tweeted.
Cairo pledged to provide necessary support to the Federal Government of Somalia mainly in the security sector by providing capacity building in the reconciliation through Cairo institute of diplomatic studies.
