MOGADISHU ( HALBEEG NEWS) – The Federal Republic of Somalia and the Peoples’ Republic of China have agreed to strengthen their bilateral cooperation in various areas.
The commitment was made during meetings between Somalia’s Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Ahmed Isse Awad and Chinese ambassador Qin Jian in Foreign Affairs Headquarters in the capital Mogadishu.
“The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Amb. Ahmed Isse Awad, discussed today in his office at the Ministry with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, HE Mr. Qin Jian, bilateral relations & ways to enhance cooperation at all levels.” MoFA confirmed the meeting on Twitter.
Chinese ambassador thanked Somalia for its respect for Chinese sovereignty and strong support on One China Policy.
I received Chinese Ambassador Qin Jian at my office in Mogadishu. We discussed further strengthening cooperation between Somalia and China. Amb Jian expressed China’s appreciation of Somalia’s continuous support for One China policy.” Said Ambassador Awad.
