KISMAYO ( Halbeeg News) – Somali security agencies in Jubbaland state have arrested a suspect for the murder of a soldier on Tuesday.
A statement by the National Intelligence agency (NISA) from Kismayo said the suspected was arrested following an operation by agencies after he shot dead, Mohamed Yare and took his AK 47 firearm.
“NISA officials arrested the suspect following monitoring of 48 hours in connection within the murder of a soldier named, Mohamed Yare.” The statement said.
“The firearm of the murdered soldier was recovered from the suspect.” It added.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned in court to answer manslaughter charges.
Armed group al-Shabaab frequently carry out attacks that target members of the Somali security agencies across the country although the scale has recently reduced following close cooperation with members of the public y the agencies.
