JIGJIGA (Halbeeg News) – Somali regional state authorities in Ethiopia have called on Somalia’s regional states located along Somalia-Ethiopia border to cooperate with Ethiopian forces on security of the border.
In a statement, the President of Somali Regional State in Ethiopia, Mustafe Agjar has urged Somali leaders to protect their shared borders.
“I urge the Hirshabelle and Galmudug administrations to respect the agreements reached and work together for the security of their borders,” said Cagjar.
President Mustafe Cagjar also warned that the remnants of Al-Shabaab and TPLF could return to the areas under their control.
Last Month, Hirshabelle, Galmudug and Somali regional state in Ethiopia have agreed to jointly work on security and carry out efforts to encourage people in both Somalia and Ethiopia live in harmony.
Somalia and Ethiopia authorities had previously seal agreements to step up of the areas along the border.
