MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble will hold talks with opposition leaders to resolve months long stand off over the elections process dispute.
Sources privy to the plan, the prime minister has invited the leader of Wadajir party, Abdirahman Abdishakur alongside other presidential candidates.
The prime minister is expected to meet with some of the opposition candidates on Tuesday in Mogadishu to discuss impasse over the electoral process.
International community has been urging Somali government and other stakeholders to resolve differences with opposition members through dialogue.
Somali opposition parties have opposed the government Indirect Elections Team (FIET) to man the country’s parliamentary elections.
Last week, FIET announced Senate elections would commence this month.
