Somali president, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo received credential letters from Spain ambassador to Somalia, Javier Garcia De Viedma during a meeting at the presidential palace in Mogadishu.
The president held meeting with new ambassador as they both discussed on wide range issues including strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Mr. De Viedma delivered a message of greetings and goodwill from the king of Spain Felipe Juan Pablo to the President of Somalia.
He said that his country as a member of European Union stands ready to strengthen the cooperation between their two countries.
For his part, Somali president praised the Ambassador on his new position and expressed hope that the bilateral relations will be beneficial to both countries.
This is the first that Spain sends its diplomatic mission to Somalia since the country plunged into civil war in 1990.
