Newly appointed Qatari Ambassador to Somalia Hassan Hamsa Asad on Saturday presented his credentials to Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo.
The ambassador who met with President Farmajo at Villa Somalia has convoyed a message from the Amir of Qatar to Somali President.
Asad who briefly spoke to media has pledged to work on the enhancement of political and economic relations between the two countries.
The arrival of the of the ambassador to Mogadishucomes on the heel of this week after Qatar donated 30 buses to Somali government.
Last Tuesday, the Government of Qatar donated the Buses to enhance and expand the work of the local governments in Somalia.
The donation was reminiscent of 30 new brand Toyota land-cruisers donated to Somali police.
Qatar is one of Somalia’s political and economic ally which provided millions of USD in aid and investment in the recent years.
The Gulf nation had signed development deal with Somali government last year of which Qatar wants implement $200 million that will go towards the reconstruction of roads and government institutions.
