Arusha, (Halbeeg News) – Federal government of Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is in Arusha, Tanzania, Friday for the 24th Ordinary Summit of the East African Community (EAC) Heads of State, coinciding with the regional bloc’s 25th anniversary.
During his visit, president Mohamud will deliver a keynote address, highlighting Somalia’s dedicated efforts towards state-building, the development of economic infrastructure, and the mobilization of the Somali community to engage in trade, education, and development initiatives with their East African counterparts.
In the summit, the leaders will review the forum’s achievements over the years, and delve into the challenges and opportunities for deeper regional integration. Emphasis will be placed on improving socio-economic conditions and ensuring sustainable security and stability across the region.
President Hassan at the same time will conduct a series of meetings with other Heads of State from the East African Community, fostering dialogue and cooperation on various critical issues.
Somalia’s active participation in this summit shows the nation’s commitment to regional collaboration and progress, aiming to strengthen ties and promote collective growth within the East African Community.
