ANKARA (Halbeeg)- President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo arrived in Ankara to attend the inauguration ceremony of Turkish President.
The plane carrying the President and entourage touched down at Ankara International Airport on Sunday evening.
The president and his delegates were welcomed at the airport by officials from the Turkish government.
According to Turkish Media, President Farmajo will be among more than 25 Presidents and Emir scheduled toTurkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s inauguration ceremony at the Presidential Complex.
Erdogan will be sworn-in at his country’s parliament on Monday at 4:30 p.m. local time (Somalia) before he proceeds to be inaugurated at Presidential Complex.
Among the dignitaries are the Presidents of Bulgaria, Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Sudan, Guinea, Zambia, Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Somalia, Mauritania, Gabon, Chad, Djibouti, Venezuela as well as Emir of Qatar.
Erdogan carried out a historic change in Turkey since his Islamic-rooted ruling party first came to power in 2002 after years of secular domination.
Turkish president has for the last two years ruled under a state of emergency imposed in the wake of the 2016 failed coup, with tens of thousands arrested in an unprecedented crackdown which cranked up tensions with the Western countries.
