PRETORIA (Halbeeg News) – Somaii President, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has congratulated Cyril Ramaphosa for victory to be South African President.
President-elect Cyril was inaugurated on Saturday as South Africa’s sixth democratically elected President.
In a statement by Vila Somalia, President Farmajo has lauded the South African government for the development and progress achieved.
President Farmajo has attended the inauguration ceremony of President Ramaphosa.
President Ramaphosa took his oath of office as part of the swearing-in ceremony that was performed by Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng.
Ramaphosa continued has said he is committed to continuing to build South Africa.
The African National Congress (ANC) leader vowed to tackle corruption and rejuvenate the struggling economy.
“Let us forge a compact for an efficient, capable and ethical state, a state that is free of corruption, for companies that generate social value and propel human development, for elected officials and public servants who faithfully serve no other cause than that of our people. We must be a society that values excellence, rewards effort and rejects mediocrity,” he said.
He was elected earlier this month with a majority of 57.5%, the smallest since the party came to power 25 years ago.
Mr. Ramaphosa initially took over from Jacob Zuma in 2018 after Mr. Zuma was accused of corruption.
