Mogadishu (Halbeeg)- The President of the federal republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has sent a Congratulatory Message to the President of the Republic of Djibouti, Mr. Ismail Omar Guellah, on the country’s 41st Independence Anniversary on June 27.
According to a statement posted on the president’s Twitter account, Mr. Farmajo stressed that the people of Djibouti celebrate an important and historic day depicting the day the people of Djibouti gained independence adding that the brotherly nations will work to strengthen the bilateral relations for the betterment of the people of Somalia and Djibouti.
“Congratulations to the government and our brothers (and sisters) in Djibouti on the anniversary of country’s independence on 27th June. Somalia and Djibouti are two fraternal nations that share historical relations” said president Farmajo in a twitter post.
The speaker of federal parliament of Somalia, Mohamed Mursal Sheikh traveled to attend the celebration of the 41st anniversary of Djibouti’s independence in 1977.
On the other hand, the president of Liberia, George Weah sent a similar a congratulatory message to the people and the president of Djibouti on the country’s 41st anniversary of independence.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, the president of Liberia, on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia in his own name, stressed that as the people of Djibouti celebrate this historic event, Liberia is hopeful that both countries will work together to strengthen their bilateral ties for the mutual benefits of their peoples.
June 27 is celebrated each year as Djibouti’s Independence Anniversary, which is obtained from France in 1977.
