MOGADISHU ( Halbeeg News) – Somali National Independent Electoral Commission has announced the by-election for two House of the People vacant seats.
Statement from the electoral commission on Sunday has called upon the interested candidates to submit their application within one week for the registration process.
“The election commission would like to inform the candidates to submit their application form in a week from 14th to 21st April, “the statement said.
The poll agency requested the traditional leaders from the two constituencies to submit the list of 51 delegates for the voting process to kick off the procedure.
The selection will be held in Baidoa, the interim administrative capital of the southwest regional state of Somalia.
Abdulaziz Hassan Mohamed Lafta Gareen previously held the unoccupied seats before his election as the southwest regional state leader on December last year and the late Ahmed Mayow Abdulle who succumbed to the cardiac arrest late last year.
Somali poll agency said it is ready to hold by-elections of parliamentary seats in Baidoa.
